Ian Filippini Visits Pickles & Swiss Restaurant

Ian Filippini Visits Pickles & Swiss

The other day my friend and I were in Santa Barbara region and we were in the mood for sandwiches. I have heard about Pickles & Swiss but I never visited it so we decided to give it a try. Located in an outdoor shopping complex, the first thing that impressed me were the fresh ingredients on display. Also, the staff there explained that they use fresh produce and bread everyday. Therefore, there are no fillers, transfat, artificial flavours, nitrates foods. In fact, the restaurant is very strict about serving gluten-free fresh foods and keeping deep-fried and frozen foods at bay. What’s more, I have been told that the premium meats and cheeses are sourced locally too.

I ordered a grill turkey sandwich, which came with a side of one of the best tasting pickles I ever had in my life! I am not exaggerating here but the pickle was that good! I tried the cold coffee here and it was delicious too. What’s more, the prices were really reasonable. My friend has celiac disease therefore she was more than happy to try dining out at a gluten-free joint like this one. She really loved her veg sandwich and said that it’s the best gluten free sandwich she had in the recent times! Thus, it wouldn’t be exaggeration if I summarize the place as one offering ‘killer’ sandwiches.

The staff at Pickles & Swiss are really friendly too, which is another reason that makes this deli outlet a favorite amongst shoppers. In fact, I would certainly recommend it to a friend. It is one of the best places for a quick lunch in Santa Barbara region. The outdoor seating or al fresco dining experience here is also something that is enjoyed by many. All in all, it is definitely a restaurant that I would like to go back to.
